What makes Avendus stand out?
Just around the corner sounds both ominous and immediate. That eponymous Bandra eatery hosted two budding i-bankers in September 1999 - Ranu Vohra and Gaurav Deepak — both of whom had a dream of starting their own investment bank and they did.

LinkEarlier this year, as the Satyam board mandated their firm Avendus, along with Wall Street heavyweight Goldman Sachs, to sell Satyam, the move triggered off a marquee deal that any bulge-bracket investment bank would have given its right arm for.

For Avendus, it was the firm’s biggest challenge ever and also its moment of truth. After all, it was a deal that held global interest. “The Satyam deal demonstrates our ability to engage in and conclude large complex transactions. We are delighted that the Government, Board of Satyam and advisors enabled us to close a landmark deal in the history of Corporate India in a tight timeframe,” says Ranu Vohra, managing director and CEO of Avendus.
