If you are running a WiFi network at home or office, you MUST secure the traffic between you computer and Wireless Router in the RIGHT way. If not, someone can intercept the traffic between your computer and Router and get hold of your email, paypal passwords etc. or other sensitive information.
1. Are you securing the traffic at all or are you running your WR in Open mode?
2. If yes, are you securing it in the right way? Using WEP (default first option provided by most WRs) is very risky. WEP can be cracked using freely available tools in a few minutes.
For techies, it would be an interesting exercise to actually perform this exercise. Figure out how you will tap into open or WEP secured WiFi traffic and access the information in the traffic using freely available tools.
